TSMC to build a $12 billion advanced semiconductor plant in Arizona with U.S. government support

The plant, set up to begin production of chips in 2024, will allow TSMC’s American consumers to produce their semiconductor products domestically. The U.S. government has apparently been in talks with TSMC for months, though one sticking point for the company was the high cost of constructing a new foundry.
