Samsungs Exynos 1080 is its first five-nanometer chip
Apple happily boasted that it had the world’s very first 5nm chip, the A14, which was made by manufacturing partner TSMC. Samsung’s production of a 5nm chip indicates that TSMC no longer holds the monopoly on the process, and ideally we’ll see more effective chips from all phone makers in future. The smaller your transistors, the quicker, or more power-efficient your phone becomes.
